Reservoir Dogs
Original artwork by Maarten Eyvind, 2025.
This piece draws on the raw energy of cult cinema, presenting a group of sharply dressed figures suspended between confrontation and performance. The scene suggests tension, attitude, and an unspoken narrative — a moment where something is about to happen, but nothing is resolved.
Painted on recycled cardboard packaging, the work has a raw, tactile surface and a strong industrial character. The worn material carries traces of previous use, adding depth and history, while the composition balances bold imagery with a restrained, minimal structure.
Inspired by the visual language of street art and film, the piece combines stencil work, layered paint, and rough textures to create a surface that feels both immediate and physical — something to be seen and felt.
The black wooden frame is painted and the artwork is mounted directly onto it, fixed with visible staples, reinforcing the raw, industrial expression.
Like much of Mortens work, it exists between pop art, urban decay, and cinematic tension.
